Youth Leagues:
The sports center offers several skating and hockey programs for a wide variety of groups or individuals, regardless of age or ability. Below is a list of programs offered at the rink.
- Providence Capitals: This franchise is part of the (EHF)

- RI Jr. Development League (RIJDL): This league is a developmental
league for Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts 6th, 7th and 8th grade players. This league plays for two
seasons during the year--fall/winter and summer. For further information, please email the League

- Lincoln Youth Hockey: Learn to Skate program, House League and Travel Teams. Call

- Rhode Island Spring High School League (Spring): This league
features both boys and girls divisions. For tryouts information

- Rhode Island Summer Showcase League (Summer): This league features Squirt,
Peewee and Bantam divisions. This is "select hockey at its

- XHL Cross Ice Hockey League (Summer): Begins June 2008 for 10 weeks on Tuesday evenings. This league plays
small games (3 on 3, 2 on 2, 1 on 1, etc.) on half of the rink surface,
cross-wise. Cross Ice Hockey is a game of speed. Skate quicker,
stickhandle quicker, pass & shoot quicker, think & react
quicker. Cross Ice Hockey is endorsed by USA Hockey and Mass
Hockey. Train the

Thursday Night Hockey
Skills Clinic (Spring/Summer):
This will be held on Thursday evenings, April 24 through August 21,
2008. This clinic focuses on overall player development with emphasis
on improving skating technique, stick handling, passing and shooting
skills. Goalie coaching will be provided at each session by Mike
Doneghey. There will be 3 session times (by birth year) at 5:00pm
('00 and younger), 6:00pm ('99 - '96) and 7:00pm ('95 thru
high school age). The cost for the 17 weeks is $295, due with
registration application. Walk-ons are available (space

- XHL Cross Ice Hockey League (Summer): Begins

- Bukac Hockey Camp (Summer): This day
camp will be held from June 23 - June 27, 2008. The #1 hockey school
in the
Czech Republic and
Ludek Bukac, Jr. will be here in person to run this exciting camp and to
teach the VGT techniques used in the Czech Republic. Please
note that the camp is now SOLD OUT and no more
registrations will be accepted.
We are looking for goalies to attend (there is no charge for goalies)--we
need 2 for the peewee and older

- Pre-Season Powerskating/Conditioning Camp
(Summer Camp): This will be held in the evenings from August 25
through August 27, 2008. This 3-day camp will emphasize both proper
skating technique and stride and getting players into game shape for the
start of the upcoming season. Sessions are 70 minutes each as
follows: Session 1 (5:00 - 6:10pm) for Mite and Squirt levels.
Session 2 (6:20 - 7:40pm) for Peewee thru High School levels.

- Team RI Day Camp
(Summer Camp): August 4 - August 8, 2008. This
week-long 1/2 day camp includes 80 minutes of on-ice training and 60 minutes
of professional off-ice training with NorthEast Sports Training and Rehab
each day. This camp will host a different coach each day for the
on-ice portion. (Includes Rob Murray of the Providence Bruins--other
specific coaches will be announced shortly.) Space is reserved for
players who made Team RI and participated in the NE County Cup
Tournament. All other players who are interested in participating can
register and acceptance will be based upon availability.

- National Hockey Development Camp (Summer): This
camp is directed by Graeme Townshend, current skating and skills coach for
the San Jose Sharks, NHL. Graeme has an extensive resume of skating
and coaching experience at the professional and youth levels and will break
down and teach proper technique for all skating and hockey skills. For more details or to register, please

- Lovell's Hockey School (Summer): This
camp is directed by Tim Lovell. The staff is made up of former college
and pro players and prides itself on working in small groups and giving

- Doneghey Goaltending Training Camp (Summer):
This goalie camp will be conducted by Mike Doneghey. All ages are

- Greg Carter European Hockey Training Camp
(Summer Camp): The week-long camps are designed for players with
previous hockey experience. The objective is to achieve top level
conditioning and skill development with intense and specialized training in

- Rob Barletta's Hockey School (Summer Camp):
The week-long camps are high-tempo and focus on overall hockey

$5 (goalies free). Limited to the
