Learn to Skate / Play Hockey / Cross Ice Hockey

- Learn to Skate. The RI Sports Center's popular Learn to Skate Program is underway and Session III starts January 7, 2012 and runs through February 25, 2012. The program will focus primarily on skating skills. Skaters will be divided into three groups; beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Each child will be advanced to the next group by on-ice instructors as their skating skills improve.
The LTS program will be broken up into seven week sessions and run through June 9, 2012. There is open enrollment and the cost is pro-rated. A one-time free trial is offered.
Equipment Required - Skates, certified hockey helmet with face guard, gloves/mittens (should be water resistant), kneepads and elbow pads are required. It is suggested that kneepads be worn under the child’s pants.

- Learn to Play Hockey - The RI Sports Center's Learn to Play Hockey program is underway and Session III starts January 7, 2012 and runs through February 25, 2012. The LTPH program is designed to advance all skating skills learned in the Learn to Skate program and introduce basic hockey skills.
The LTPH program will be broken up into seven week sessions and run through June 9, 2012. There is open enrollment and the cost is pro-rated. Full equipment is needed to participate in the Learn to Play Hockey program.
- Cross Ice Hockey -
RI Hockey Development's Cross Ice 3 on 3 Hockey League - Session I is underway and runs through April 1, 2012. Cross Ice will be broken up into twelve week sessions and run through April 1, 2012. This program will have open enrollment and cost will be pro-rated. Full equipment is needed to participate in the Cross Ice 3 on 3 Hockey League.
